Managing Young Woodlands

The local Farming & Wildlife Advisory Group (FWAG East) is holding a workshop entitled ‘Managing Young Woodland’ on Friday 14th November at Barton, Cambs.  The workshop takes the form of a morning in the field with woodlands expert Stephen Westover, looking at the best management for young woodland to ensure its health and usefulness into the future. Stephen will look at how certain management practices can improve the biodiversity within young woodlands, as well as how best to manage them for wood fuel and how to reduce the risk of tree diseases.

This workshop would be helpful for those interested in woodland ecology and anyone who has established woodland in the past 10-20 years and who may now be seeking a steer on what to do with them next. The workshop runs from 10am-1pm and cost £30 for FWAG East members (£50 for non-members), including lunch.
